- Big Game Fishing in the North Sea
July 29, 2012
Three weeks off work, then some swimming in Greece tomorrow, still had a chance to get a bit of a dream session in before flying off to some endless sun, squid and Amstel.
Joined by Steve we took the 1 hour 15 minute walk in from Hayburn Wyke, all this just to pass a block with quite a big shadow from outer space. Some amazing lines, top class fishing and a dream sunrise. Perfect (blog)
- Coastal Attraction
July 24, 2012
I have become a coastal obsessive at the moment, any excuse to go to Whitby for fish and chips, also it gets a bit midgey this time of year never-mind the ticks, where have they all been hiding or breeding, seems to be more than ever? Had a cosy little bro-mance session with James and Mike on sunday repeating a lot of Jason and Scott's problems at the Boulby right hand section, really good day on some good rock, hopefully James will get a short video up soon, It was nice finally to get my head round the vast amount of rock the cliffs hold, with still problems to go back to......... - Bad Day Turned Good
July 16, 2012
A difficult weekend to get some problems done, damp sandstone is a definite no go zone. so dropping onto the Jurassic plateau just as the black cloud of doom passed over, ruined all the good work the morning sun had done, this put an even damper mood on everyone. Mike swiftly executed a back up plan and went to the Duck boulders, bagging a 7c, It's always a good idea to have a back up plan or two or maybe even five? beats sitting in a cafe sulking, It's like having a game of poker with mother nature, A challenge to find good rock in the middle of a bad forecast, to come out triumphantly climbing at the same time forgetting the earlier stress, against all the odds adding to the buzz of the days ascents.
Big thanks to Jason and Scott Wood this was one of those days, cheers. 29 Jan 2012 - Bad Day Turned Good

Two years ago when i was just beginning to feel out the more esoteric peak
venues, i came across Spare Rib and its accompanying boulder, and whilst
this is undoubtedly one of the best problems in the UK it had no other
straight up problems on it at the time, the other arete on the opposite side
of the block was a prime example of a sitting duck project and on a return
visit i mopped it up at 7b+......

- Crafnant Valley
June 19, 2012
This week I went back to a old time line I wanted to do. It doesn't get
much more roadside than this, as you drive down the Ogwen from Bethesda to
Capel there is a big lip on the right. I first looked at it when I was
doing a delivery in the Holland Arms van, so at the latest that is 2003.....

- 3 Rock Evening
June 19, 2012
headed up Three Rock last night. Left the car after seven and got back just
before the gate was due to close at ten. It's was Trish's first time so we
started at the furthest boulder and she dispatched everything with ease.
Even the hard mantle that probably isn't that hard......

- Glen Lednock
June 18, 2012
Spring in Glen Lednock... red kites, buzzards, curlews, lapwings, munro-baggers and boulderers. Everything out at it, we attacked the blocs and shredded tips on this particularly vicious geology - a compact quartz schist, every pocket like a Piranha's kiss.......
